My Studio

My studio.

“There is no one here.
But the objects: they are real.”

Where has all the years gone?

My education was a strange  beast. I worked out that I have been to 17 schools spread half way across the world. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration because I needed to learn how to use a computer before returning to work after children. Sadly I learned, eventually, that I was unemployable because I was a stay at home mother. When my husband left me I entered the murky waters of living on benefits and learnt that I could earn some money selling my paintings.

My small world was Eynsham and a vivid imagination made morris dancers gods (genius locorum) of a modern village. I painted a bog standard village which was glorious.

My work has gain traction in the  local art market because I presented a vision that was different. I take delight in the fact that my painting of this place and it’s people have been exported to so many places.
