Watercolour paint with its fresh transparent colours have long been used to evoke the english countryside. Lorna uses this medium in a variety of techniques; always starting with a light pencil drawing. She will ink these lines adding extra details before adding watercolour paint over the top of these lines. When using this paint in traditional washes of layers to build up form she will move to more abstract shapes developing to a reality that is unique to her vision. In recent years she has added gouache paint and watercolour pencils allowing her to develop her story.
